The Zmiros Project
|
|
|
The practice of singing zmiros on the Sabbath constitutes one of the most
beautiful and distinctively Jewish religious rituals. In collaboration with
the recent Ain Sof There is No End book project at the Bronfman Center for
Jewish Life at New York University, Klezmatics founders Frank London and
Lorin Sklamberg with pianist Rob Schwimmer have created exhilarating
lyrical arrangements of this mystical repertoire, realizing new ideals in one
of the richest genres of traditional Jewish song. CD contains a 40 page
booklet with English translations.
